Top London Brunch Options

Mac & Wild, (Fitzrovia/Devonshire Square)

Scotland has some of the best ingredients in the UK and therefore it is no surprise that Mac & Wild, who pride themselves on their good quality meat (especially venison and beef) and fish makes my top brunch shortlist! I’ve visited a few times but my fave choice is the Cured Salmon and Scrambled Eggs. The salmon is tender, sweet and full of flavour and the eggs are well cooked and still lovely and soft.

The other favourite is the full Scottish! and of course you will need to pair it with Venison Scotch Egg and a signature cocktail such as a ‘Bloody Scotsman!’

Brother Marcus, (Balham)

If you’re looking for a very decent, cosy South London option, then look no further than Brother Marcus just 2 mins walk from Balham tube.

Perfectly cooked poached eggs with avocado and bacon (or smoked salmon) is a speciality – the ‘Sister Special’ to be exact, as well as the ‘Marcus Breakfast’ which is the ‘Full English’ option with sausage, bacon, beans and tomatoes. Excellent, nutty coffees too!

Canto Corvino, (Spitalfields)

For a special occasion, somewhere a bit smarter, unashamedly Italian, then Canto Corvino in Spitalfields is excellent. Their prosecco brunch is perfect for a birthday or celebration and the brunch menu features typical breakfast options such as the ‘Full Italian’ and various egg choices as well as the option to have a few starters from the A la Carte menu such as the Beef Carpaccio, Lobster and Saffron arancini balls or the delicious slow cooked Lamb Ribs (with smoked aubergine puree and sesame).

Impeccable service and a lovely experience all around, the food will not disappoint.

Dirty Bones, (Shoreditch/Soho/Kensington)

A cool place of the moment, for pure indulgence and great for a hangover then Dirty Bones is a good choice. The Avocado or Beef Short Rib Poached Egg crumpets are a fave, as is the ‘cleaner eating option’ of beetroot cured salmon on sourdough. Excellent flat whites and a trendy environment make it a nice place to sit and chill/work.

We also highly recommend the thick cut proper bacon and fried eggs!

Plum + Spilt Milk, (Kings Cross)

For ultimate food quality my favourite brunch place in the past year is Plum + Spilt Milk at Kings Cross. Ideal if you happen to be jumping on to the Eurostar to Paris for a romantic weekend getaway and fancy a nice breakfast as a pre-journey treat.

Top choices include the crab and avocado on toast, the classic scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast or the Lobster benedict….of course accompanied with Champagne.
